Why is Easter so Important?

24 Apr

Praise the Lord everybody, and welcome to the Resurrection Center, “The Place Where Dead Dreams Live Again”. Thank you for joining us on this Resurrection Sunday.

Everyone knows that dates are important. Many of you who love history will remember that on October 14, 1492 – Christopher Columbus landed in the Americas. September 28, 1972 – Paul Henderson scored the goal of the century allowing Canada to win the Summit Series over the Soviets. December 7, 1941 – Pearl Harbour was attacked which ushered the U.S. into the Second World War July 1, 1867 – Canadian Confederation. October 31, 1517 – Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the Wittenberg Door, which essentially started the Protestant Reformation. January 28, 1986 – The Challenger Explosion.  July 20, 1969 – Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. April 15, 1912 – The Sinking of The Titanic. December 19, 1997 – The Releasing of The Titanic. “It’s always darkest before the dawn”..

26 Aug

Have you ever heard someone say, “It’s always darkest before the dawn”? I have heard this said many, many times. However, what does this really mean? It is my experience that God will often give me a test just before He gives me my breakthrough. I know most people don’t like exam time but God often uses a trial as a way of actually testing us to show us who we are and what we know or in some cases what we don’t know. One of the key areas that God will arrange for a test to come your way in this life will be when you are getting ready to walk into the heart of your true calling for Him. This was a definite pattern of God the Father in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Read the rest of this entry »

STRONGHOLDS..

11 Jun

Last week (JUNE 6TH) I begin teaching a new sermon series entitled Spiritual Warfare. You don’t have to look far to find information on this subject. Countless books and messages are available on this subject, but it’s a subject that cannot be exhausted.

We need to understand that the enemy’s ultimate desire is to bring death to our dreams and our God given destiny. See, the enemy loves to bring up our past, our pain and our mistakes.  When he does this he begins to establish a strategy that becomes a “death structure,” resulting in death to vision and abortion of destiny. Once the structure is in place, he seeks to gain illegitimate authority over a life. If he has gained authority, then he can steal vision, hope and destiny.

Someone said, “If you ask the devil to dinner, he will bring his suitcase!” In other words, if you open any door, he moves in to stay! The devil advances into our lives to establish a stronghold. A stronghold does exactly what it states: it gets a hold on us that is strong. Jesus warned us of a “strong man” who desired to take our possessions (see Luke 11:.21). IS SERVING CHRIST WORTH IT?..

22 Apr

Friends, I want to encourage you today to run the race with patience and endure till the end no matter what comes your way. Some may wonder if serving Christ is worth it, but I want to assure you that it is. I believe it is “worth your while” to fully surrender your entire life over to God the Father and go with His call on your life rather than you deciding what you are going to do with your life. The reason for this is because there are many incredible rewards being given out in heaven for those who are willing to do good works for the Lord while living down here on this earth. When I was a child I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child…

19 Jan

Praise the Lord everybody, and welcome to the Resurrection Center, the place where dead dreams live again. If you are visiting us today we are delighted to have you with us and we pray that you will be encouraged by the word.

Today I want to share part of an article that I received in a newsletter written by Gerald Brooks. In 1 Corinthians 13:11 it says “When I was a child I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man I put away childish things.”  Most of us quickly associate the words—“For Mature Audiences Only”—with the content of a movie. We’re accustomed to seeing this phrase on a theatre or a TV screen, and we recognize that it’s providing a warning about the themes in a particular film or program. Read the rest of this entry »
