Did you get the memo?

22 Mar

Did you get the memo?

I was hurrying up to go to the hospital for a general checkup. I was running both figuratively and for real! I don’t like being late but that’s another story.
I finally got to the office to advise the secretary of my arrival and the room was empty. I thought to myself that I must have come to the wrong ward or on the wrong day.
Nevertheless I sat down and while I was catching my breath, this paper on the wall got all my attention. The title just jumped at me; it said: MEMO FROM GOD!

I was trying to read as fast as I could just in case my time would be up. Guess what? My time was up and I never got to finish reading the memo!

The checkup went fine; except for the fact that I was hot and sweaty and that the nurse kept telling me to settle down and remove my shirt. There was a radio playing classical music full blast. I like classical music, but it is not the best of thing to listen to it, specially, when the piece hits the crescendo and the fortissimo, which are the potent part in the music piece!

Here we go….

1. Prayer is not a religious ritual. Read the rest of this entry »

Priority Shift

Priority ShiftI believe we need to make a Priority Shift here at the RC where our focus moves from in reach to outreach. Christ brought us out of darkness into His light for three primary reasons:

  1. First so that we would minister to God. This has to do with our relationship with God, which we develop through prayer, worship and reading His Word.
  2. Secondly, to minister to one another. This has to do with our relationship with other Christians, which is expressed through love, fellowship and serving.
  3. Thirdly, to minister to the world. This has to do with our relationship with those who do not yet know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is expressed through evangelism, community outreach, church planting and missions.

The interesting thing about these three important ministries is that the only one that can’t be done in heaven is number three. Read the rest of this entry »

The Christ Church

We continue painting a picture on the Christ Church with 5 more characteristics it needs to portray to transform its environment effectively.

  • The sixth ingredient that must be found in a “CHRIST CHURCH” is solid biblical preaching and teaching of God’s word. Acts 4:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
  • The seventh ingredient that must be found in a “CHRIST CHURCH” is we must be a God hearing-people. Acts 2:43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Read the rest of this entry »
